London 9/24

I am currently on a plane to London. It has been an emotional week and I have been second guessing myself so much. Of course i have wanted to do this for over a decade but now it is here and with only a little money and so much uncertainty, I’m terrified. November will be eye opening for me. I will do some teaching and see how much work I can actually get and if I can survive off of it. Furthermore, after Dec. 19th I have no idea where I will be living or how long I will be staying as it will all come down to how much I can make.

Today was filled with much worry as it was only two hours before my departure from home that I realised one of my suitcases was broken. I then had to transfer everything to mom’s brand new suitcase which I discovered weighed significantly more than my old one. I was 6 pounds over. I spent an hour shuffling weight trying to bring it down. My carry on was stuffed to the max and I worried it would explode. Not only that but getting to the gate which was forever away was hard work as I had two backpacks, three jackets and my cpap. I thought my arms would fall off.

On the place I was lucky as the middle seat was empty giving me a little more room. As a bigger woman, it granted me more elbow space and I also put my personally bag under its seat and a couple items on it. It was a nice start however with so much stuff I worry about getting to Clapham. Do I just bite the bullet and take a taxi to spare myself the trouble or do I save a lot of money and take the train with all my gear in tow? I guess I will just decide when I get there. For now, I have 8 more hours to breathe before the craziness really begins and hopefully get some sleep.

Got through the airport with ease and took an Uber for $75. In the end, taking trains with all that shit seemed way hard. It took about an hour driving to get into the city and kindly my airbag host helped me carry my luggage up the stairs which thank God cuz it was heavy. By the time I moved things around my bags, ate and showered, I didn’t go to bed until midnight. Tomorrow there is only one thing to do so it’s a real relatively quiet day before chaos travel starts.
